What’s here?
Rowtons’ Museum of the Paranormal and Spirituality is home to hundreds of strange, sacred, and spooky artefacts from across the globe, including some of the world’s most haunted objects. The previously unseen private collection of paranormal researchers Laura and Erik Rowton includes everything from a cursed Ouija board said to give you nightmares, to magic scrolls used to cure demonic possession, to relics from the notorious Amityville Horror House, to a life-size replica of the Shroud of Turin. Not only that, the Rowtons’ collection is housed within a Grade-II listed chapel and schoolroom that boasts a supernatural history all of its own…
penuel chapel

The home of miracles and angels, Penuel Chapel was associated with faith healing and supernatural manifestations at the end of the 19th century. Today, the chapel continues its spiritual legacy by housing exhibits on dragons, the Sacred Peacock, angels, crystals, spirit art, saints’ relics, and demonic possession and exorcism… Penuel is also home to our multi-faith Shrine of the All. Visitors are welcome to sit in the chapel and meditate, rest, pray, worship, or otherwise enjoy its special atmosphere.
sÉance parlour

Our sumptuously-decorated Victorian séance parlour is home to many fascinating and eerie artefacts, such as 19th century mourning jewellery made from human hair, antique Spiritualist equipment including a Ouija board that’s over 100 years old, messages written by spirits of the dead, and relics from some of the most haunted places on earth. An active room of spiritual communication, it is also where we host our popular séance evenings.
Haunted objects schoolroom

The old schoolroom is where we care for our most paranormally active objects, including many which were donated to us by people struggling with horrific paranormal activity in their homes. Most of these items are utterly unique, one-of-a-kinds that cannot be seen anywhere else. Some of our most popular artefacts include the notorious Black-Eyed Child Doll (B.E.C.), the Gwyllgi bell jar, the ‘Nightmare’ Ouija Board, an ominous Victorian Black Magick Mirror, and a diabolical Dybbuk Box.
PARANORMAL LABORATORY

The museum’s mid-twentieth century inspired Paranormal Laboratory is where we display our paranormal investigation equipment, including specially modified spirit radios, REM pods, and other environmental sensors. The Lab is where you can put your own psychic abilities to the test by using Zener Cards and trying our remote viewing experiment. It is also where we observe and investigate our latest haunted donations, without the spiritual protections the rest of the collection is under. You are welcome to speak to them… if you dare!
