tHE ROWTONS’ CASE FILES

Laura and Erik Rowton are seasoned paranormal investigators. Sharing a lifelong interest in all things strange and spooky, they turned a more focused eye towards the unseen in 2015 when they launched the popular YouTube channel The Paranormal Scholar. In 2019, they released their first full feature documentary film, In Search of the Dead. Filmed throughout 2017 and 2018, this project set the couple on a path that would see them solve childhood mysteries and Victorian cold cases. Today, they collectively refer to this body of work as ‘The Eliza Case’, in honour of one of the young women whose life was tragically taken in the 19th century by an unknown and unpunished murderer. Given the serial nature of the killer’s crimes, the Rowtons’ research is ongoing.

JANE BLAKEMORE WAS MURDERED (2023), DOCUMENTARY FILM

In 2017, Laura and Erik Rowton attempted to discover if it is possible to prove the existence of life after death. They shared their journey in their 2019 documentary film In Search of the Dead. In the years since, they have continued their search for survival, conducting paranormal investigations, using Ouija boards to speak to ghosts, exploring psychic mediumship, and even developing their own spiritual abilities and connection to the other side. Their 2023 feature film documents some of their latest findings, including the fate of Jane Blakemore, a seventeen-year-old girl who died in 1856… who has seemingly returned from beyond the grave to set the record straight, and prove – in no uncertain terms – that she was murdered.
