our research
Laura and Erik Rowton are experienced paranormal researchers and investigators. Since 2015 they have produced of hundreds of paranormal documentaries via their popular YouTube channels The Paranormal Scholar and Laura Rowton. They are also known for their work in uncovering the hitherto unknown 19th century murder of Jane Blakemore through their feature documentary films, In Search of the Dead (2019) and Jane Blakemore was Murdered (2023).
They continue their paranormal research at Rowtons’ Museum, studying items claimed to be haunted, as well as conducting psychical experiments in an attempt to uncover the mysteries of extra-sensory perception (ESP), miracles, psychic mediumship, remote viewing, meditation, spiritual healing, divination, ghosts and spirits, and life after death.
research at the museum
Exploration is fundamental to the ethos of the Rowtons. As such, we are constantly engaging in experiments at the museum, including remote viewing for daytime visitors to our Paranormal Laboratory (with results shared via our social media platforms each day after closing), and Victorian-inspired experiments during our séance evenings.
Curious about attending a séance? Watch this video below to find out what happened when spirit artist Stephen Cox attended one of our evenings.
